1972
- Michael A. Santer, Jr., M.D., founded Parkersburg Cardiology Associates, Inc.
1973
- M. David Avington, M.D., joined PCA.
1976
- PCA began offering echocardiography.
1988
- The first diagnostic catheterization in St. Joseph’s Hospital’s new catheterization lab was performed.
1989
- Hemant C. Modi, M.D., joined PCA as its first invasive cardiologist. Dr. Modi began performing diagnostic catheterizations.
1993
- PCA began performing nuclear stress tests within the office suite.
1994
- Stanley C. Pamfilis, M.D., an invasive cardiologist, joined PCA.
- Dr. Pamfilis inserted a permanent pacemaker at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
1995
- David A. Gnegy, M.D., an invasive cardiologist, joined PCA.
1999
- The 5000th diagnostic catheterization at St. Joseph’s Hospital was performed.
2000
- The first diagnostic catheterization in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital’s new catheterization lab was performed.
2004
- Dr. Gnegy inserted the first ICD at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
- St. Joseph’s Hospital obtained open-heart surgery and interventional programs.
- Scott J. Manders, M.D., an interventional cardiologist, joined PCA.
- Dr. Manders performed the first coronary intervention at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
- PCA began performing echocardiography within the office suite.
2005
- John A. Goddard, M.D., an interventional cardiologist, joined PCA.
- Dr. Goddard performed a peripheral intervention at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
- St. Joseph’s Hospital opened its second catheterization lab.
2006
- PCA began offering 24/7 interventional coverage to the Mid-Ohio Valley.
- The 300th open-heart procedure at St. Joseph’s Hospital was performed.
- The 800th cardiac intervention at St. Joseph’s Hospital was performed.
2007
- The 600th open-heart procedure at St. Joseph’s Hospital was performed.
- The 1,700th cardiac intervention at St. Joseph’s Hospital was performed.
2008
- John Mason, M.D., an invasive cardiologist joined PCA.
- The 750th open-heart procedure at St. Joseph's Hospital was performed.
- The 2,000th cardiac intervention at St. Joseph's Hospital was performed.
2009
- St. Joseph's Hospital and PCA mark the 5th Anniversary of the open-heart and interventional programs.
- PCA is the first if the Mid Ohio Valley to receive accreditation for its echocardiography and nuclear stress testing laboratories.
2010
- PCA begins offering stress echocardiography and vascular ultrasounds and screenings within the office suite.
- The 850th open-heart procedure at St. Joseph's Hospital was performed.
- The 2,700th cardiac intervention at St. Joseph's Hospital was performed.
- West Virginia United Health System announce the merger of St. Joseph's and Camden Clark Memorial Hospitals.
2011
- The 1,000th open-heart procedure at St. Joseph's Hospital was performed.
- The 3,000th cardiac intervention at St. Joseph's Hospital was performed.
- Drs. Casas and Goddard use the Impella Device for the first time in the Mid Ohio Valley
- Chris Miller, M.D., an interventional (cardiac and peripheral vascular) cardiologist joined PCA
- PCA opens an office in Jackson County on the campus of Jackson General Hospital
- October - Dr. M. David Avington Announces His Retirement After 38 Years of Practice
2012
- June - Dr. Michael A. Santer, Jr. Announces His Retirement After 40 Years of Practice
- August - Parkersburg Cardiology Associates Announces the Emeritus Status of Drs. Michael A. Santer, Jr. and M. David Avington
2013
-April - Parkersburg Cardiology Associates Announces the Opening of a Congestive Heart Failure Clinic
- May - Lyndsey J. Kuhn, RN, MSN APRN, BC, joined PCA as a nurse practitioner to develop and supervise the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic
-Camden Clark Medical Center has implemented several measures to significantly decrease average door-to-balloon time, exceeding national guidelines and improving care of patients with the most severe type of heart attack, known at STEMI (ST-segment-elevation myocardial infraction).
2015
-Camden Clark Medical Center consolidated it cardica services to the Memorial Campus, resulting in 3 new cath labs and state of the art facility.
- March - Tammy L. Crookshanks, RN, MSN, APRN, BC, joined PCA as a nurse practitioner.
- Lyndsey J. Kuhn receives certification as a congestive heart failure nurse practitioner.
- Showri Karnam, M.D., an interventional (cardiac and peripheral vascular) cardiologist joined PCA
2016
- Melanie D. Matheny, RN, MSN, APRN, BC, joined PCA as a nurse practitioner .
2017
- November - PCA, WVU Medicine and Camden Clark Medical Center announce the construction of a new medical office building to house PCA and consolidate other cardiac services into one facility.
2018
- January - Tammy S. Burton, RN, MSN, APRN, BC, joined PCA as a nurse practitioner.
- November - Kayla D. Valentine, RN, MSN, APRN, BC joined PCA as a nurse practitioner.
2019
- February 4th - Moved in to PCA's new building which is adjacent to Camden Clark and the address is 1013 Garfield Avenue, Parkesburg, WV 26101.
- February - Sarah M. Hendrix, RN, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, joined PCA as a nurse practitioner.
