Parkersburg Cardiology Associates Earns Top Company at 2014 Wood-Washington County Heart Walk

Parkersburg Cardiology Associates raised over $7,200 for the 2014 Wood-Washington County Heart Walk.  This earned Parkersburg Cardiology Associates the top company prize.  The Walk is sponsored by the American Heart Association and raised over $30,000.

Hospital among first to receive new designation for delivering quality and cost-efficient cardiac procedures

Camden Clark Medical Center has been recognized as one of the first hospitals in the nation to receive a Blue Distinction Center+SM designation in the area of cardiac care, as part of the Blue Distinction Centers for Specialty Care® program.  Blue Distinction Centers are hospitals shown to deliver quality specialty care based on objective, transparent measures for patient safety and health outcomes that were developed with input from the medical community.  This year, the national program has added a new designation level, Blue Distinction Centers+, to recognize hospitals that deliver both quality and cost-efficient specialty care.

PCA Raises Over $8,000 for the 2011 American Heart Association Heart Walk
The 2011 Wood/Washington Counties Heart Walk was held in October in Parkersburg and was a resounding success. Parkersburg Cardiology Associates accounted for over $8,000 of the nearly $50,000 raised during the event. PCA would like to thank everyone who participated in the event, the proceeds of which will be used to save lives from the country's #1 and #3 killers, heart disease and stroke. 

Hospital using new cardiac catheterization method

For the past year, a new type of catheterization process has benefited patients at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus. Dr. John Goddard, interventional cardiologist with Parkersburg Cardiology serving both Parkersburg Hospitals, has been offering the new program along with fellow interventional cardiologist Dr. Jack Cass.

PARKERSBURG - The cardiac services department at St. Joseph's Hospital has added a new piece of equipment which will help serve high risk patients in need of angioplasty.

Dr. Jack Casas, interventional cardiologist at St. Joseph's and Camden-Clark Memorial hospitals, talked Friday about the new device, called the Abiomed Impella, which went into use about three months ago at SJH.
